Family Responsibility Leave
FreshWorks is committed to supporting its employees with a work life balance. This policy provides employees with the information they need to understand family responsibility leave and what benefits may be available to them.
In accordance with the BC Employment Standards Act, employees are entitled to 5 unpaid family responsibility leave days per year and adjustments occur on the 1st of September each year. Eligible Employees who work less than the full September to August period shall have their Family Responsibility Leave entitlement prorated. This prorated amount will be available in Collage. Any remaining Family Responsibility Leave days may not be accumulated or carried forward into the next year.
The company requests that employees provide notification to Human Resources as soon as practical when taking a Family Responsibility Leave day. Employees must input their family responsibility days into Collage within one working day of their leave.
Applying for Sick Leave
Family Responsibility Leaves are only to be used when an employee needs to take time off to meet responsibilities related to:
- the care, health or education of a child in the employee's care, or
- the care or health of any other member of the employee's immediate family
When requested by the employee, Human Resources will consider an agreement to apply the Out of Office policy in place of the Family Responsibility Leave policy when operations allow. Please review the “Out of Office Policy” for more information.
